Oshkosh Defense has started building the first prototype of the DXPV Kaaiman, the Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicle for the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps. The company announced it on 13 October 2026.
About the vehicle
- It is based on the American Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV).
- It is built for expeditionary missions, especially in coastal areas.
- It has upgraded off-road suspension and extra corrosion protection for marine environments.
- Modular armor can be fitted when the mission needs it.
- A modular design leaves room for future upgrades.
Order and timeline
The Netherlands selected Oshkosh in April 2025 to supply 150 vehicles and signed the supply agreement in June 2025. A further batch, worth an estimated $25–30 million, was ordered in January 2026. Deliveries are planned from 2028.
