Finland and Sweden became the first nations to order Patria’s new Trackx tracked armored vehicle, placing orders on 30 September 2026 for pre-series vehicles and evaluation trials. The Trackx is designed to replace the ageing M113 and MT-LB in Arctic and soft-ground conditions.
The orders
- Finland’s initial acquisition is worth €13 million.
- Sweden ordered five vehicles for testing and evaluation.
- First deliveries are expected in 2027, with Finnish trials planned from autumn 2027.
Vehicle highlights
- Combat weight of about 15 tonnes. Carries 2 crew plus 10 dismounted soldiers.
- Wide 560 mm tracks for low ground pressure on snow and soft terrain.
- Road speed of 80 km/h, range of 500 km, and amphibious capability.
- Adjustable hydropneumatic suspension.
- STANAG 4569 Level 1 ballistic and mine protection in the baseline version.
